Week 4: Endings-->Beginnings
May. 21st, 2020 07:29 pmTO INFINITY AND BEYOND [20 points per participant]:
Make plans with one or more other Voiceteam players to work on an audio project together after the end of the month. This could be a multivoice podfic, watching a movie together and then not!ficcing it, guesting on their podcast, joining a shared reading of their screenplay, etc. If you’re not sure if it counts, ask us. Once you’ve ironed out the details of your plans, come tell us about them!
POST-CANON [25 points for each player who contributes, +10 if over 5 minutes]
Create an audio work that takes place post-canon for any fandom.
COMMENTARY [55 points for each player who contributes, +5 if commentary is posted]
Write or record new commentary on an old fanwork of yours. This should be at minimum 7 min or 1K written words. You might talk about why the project is meaningful to you, what your thought process was in making it, what it taught you, etc. This may be solo or take the form of an interview with one or more other Voiceteam players. Bonus points for adding the commentary to the post of the original work.
PODFIC BROKEN TELEPHONE [75 points for the team, not subject to individual cap]
Plan and begin a game of Podfic Broken Telephone with at least 5 team members. To earn the points, you only need to plan the order of participation, create the first fanwork in the chain, and send it along to the second person in the chain. (See this Google Doc to learn how Podfic Broken Telephone has been organized in the past. Feel free to tweak the format to fit your own team’s wishes. For example, you might choose to tweak it to Audio Fanwork Broken Telephone, which your group opens up to any fanworks with an audio component!)
HIGH FIVE [15 points]
Leave feedback for a member of a DIFFERENT VoiceTeam about something they have posted during the month of this challenge.
MY TURN [50 points per team member who contributes]
Repod something recorded earlier for this year of Voiceteam by any player.
DREAM BIG [45 points per team member who contributes]
Begin a long-for-you podfic that you won't be able to finish by the end of the month.
TEAM LOVE [150 points per team member who creates a reclist]
Have a Lovefest with your team, where each player gets a turn receiving positive feedback from the rest of the group. This could happen via audio chat, text chat in a dedicated Discord channel, a spreadsheet, etc. Each player may then earn points by creating a reclist that includes at least one creation by each team member who participated in the Lovefest! (Note that this is opt-in, and any team member who does not want to participate is not required to. Also, not every person has to leave love for each other person in the Lovefest, as long as every person *receives* some love. TEAM LOVE points can only be earned once per player)
WHAT COMES NEXT [35 points for each player who contributes, +10 if over 5 minutes]
Record the sequel (or *create* a sequel) to any audio fanwork you have created or loved in the past.
TIME WARP [25 points for each qualifying player who contributes, +10 if over 5 minutes]
Record an audio fanwork in a fandom you used to be in but haven't created/consumed fanworks for in at least one year. Multiple people may get points for contributions to this, but only if each one hasn't created/consumed fanworks in that fandom for over one year.
Bonus Challenge: GO FOR IT [40 points per player who contributes)
Finish or make significant progress on an old or aspirational project. This could be a WIP you’ve been working on, something you’ve been stuck on, or an idea you’ve had but haven’t acted on yet. It’s up to you what counts as significant progress, but a good guideline would be completing at least the first part/chapter/1 or 2 hours of work/20 minutes of audio.
